Toilet Renovation and Clean Water Projects
The standard of sanitation in Iraqi schools is hazardously low; few schools have running water or are connected to a system to dispose waste. There is a particular lack of proper facilities in girls secondary schools. We partnered up with Iraqi Al-Amal Association for construction of new sanitation facilities at 3 different girl schools. We have a long term history of working in Kenya. We work with both local and international partners that understand the country's specific water and sanitation needs. Our projects comprises constructing water reservoirs at schools and communities in Malewa Valley, implementing Better Water Maker (BWM) (a human-powered device designed for use in the developing world to produce safe water), hygiene and sanitation training and setting up small business enterprises. Liberian Refugee Camp Sanitation Campaign
Unexpectedly, in 2011 the refugee camp was closed by the Ghanaian government and the refugees were forced to resettle elsewhere. However, project partners confirmed that in the two years the sanitation facilities and billboards were in existence, lives were saved. Learn more
